‘Form, colour and materiality have been carefully curated in this opulent space. Inspiration is drawn from particular motifs and colours of the natural world including flowers and trees, creating the perfect embodiment of the personal sanctuary imbued with hotel luxury – the best of both worlds. The contemporary decoration in this personal sanctuary creates a sensory bridge between artifact, art, and the larger world outside – joining the emotions of the occupant with the spirituality of nature’.
Concept – Material, finish and furniture intent.
The materials, finishes and furniture in the space are a harmony of the luxury of marble flooring, clean lines, and rich textiles. Qualities of transparency, contrast and reflection bring these elements seamlessly together. Dark earthy greys contrast with gold accents to emphasise the clean planes of the walls, and accentuate the play between natural light and shadow. Carefully selected soft chiffon drapery of pinks and green creates a visual awareness of the north east light; diffusing tree dappled light into the living space. This adds a layer of movement and pattern, intensified by the reflective marble floors. The enduring craftsmanship, contrasting forms, and differing cultural origins of each object and piece of furniture emote a sense of beauty, history and familiarity. The interplay between each element within the space is designed to generate a feeling of connectivity to what surrounds us and what has been, offering the comfort of the familiar, a feeling of belonging, and an immersion in classic luxury.
